Meaghan is a commercial litigator with more than fifteen years of experience handling high-stakes, complex disputes for global clients in state and federal courts and in domestic and international arbitration. Her litigation practice spans contract and business-tort disputes, fraud claims, corporate governance and partnership disputes, fiduciary litigation, and the domestic and cross-border enforcement of judgments and arbitral awards. Meaghan also maintains a substantial art law practice, representing auction houses, galleries, dealers, artists, artists' estates and foundations, individual and institutional collectors, and museums in disputes and transactional matters. Prior to joining Fishkin Lucks, Meaghan was a partner at Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP, where she practiced in the Litigation Department and International Arbitration Group and served as Co-Chair of the Art Law Group. During 2021–2022, Meaghan served as in-house counsel to Sotheby's on a six-month secondment.
Meaghan received her J.D. cum laude from the University of Florida College of Law, where she was a Research Editor of the Florida Law Review, and her A.B. with High Honors from Dartmouth College, where she received the Mary and Melvin Hershenson 1933 Prize in Comparative Literature and was a four-year varsity letterman in sailing. Following law school, Meaghan served as a law clerk to the Honorable Ursula Ungaro, United States District Judge for the Southern District of Florida. Meaghan is admitted to practice in New York, Florida, and California, and before the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second and Ninth Circuits and a number of federal district courts.
Meaghan is ranked by the Chambers High Net Worth Guide for Art and Cultural Property Law and is recognized by other leading legal directories for her work in commercial litigation and international arbitration. She is a member of the Art Law Committee of the New York City Bar Association, was a Fellow of the David Rockefeller Fellows Program of the Partnership for New York City and serves on the board of directors of the Legal Aid Society and Performance Space New York.
